Who builds it, and who pays for it.
jobdownup is a job-search agent that works for the candidate. It reads employers’ own career pages rather than re-listing job boards, scores every role it finds both for fit and for whether the posting’s history says you can still win it, and then produces what follows a match: a tailored CV, a cover letter, interview practice and a negotiation pack. The mechanism, step by step, is on how jobdownup works.
Who runs it
Filip Markovic, founder, working from Bavaria, Germany. A decade on the sales side of the hiring table, then two years inside the job market as a candidate — which is where the product came from. It operates as an Einzelunternehmen (German sole tradership) under the Kleinunternehmer regime of §19 UStG, which is why no VAT is added to the price anywhere. Registration details are on the Impressum.
It is self-funded. There are no investors, no advertisers, and no employer customers — the only revenue is subscriptions paid by the people using it, which is the single fact that decides everything else about how it behaves.
What it refuses to do
It never applies to a job as you. Nothing is sent on your behalf, ever. Mass auto-application is a large part of why employers stopped reading applications, and a tool that adds to that is working against the person paying for it.
It will not invent CV content. Tailoring reorders and rephrases what is already in your CV. It refuses to run on an empty one, and every figure in the generated text is checked back against your original, with anything unsupported flagged to you rather than quietly shipped.
It does not sell your data, and it has no advertisers to sell it to. Every vendor that processes anything is named on the subprocessors page, including where each one physically holds it.
It does not invent numbers. Every statistic on this site carries the publisher, the period it describes and the date it was checked. Three figures that could not be traced to whoever measured them were removed rather than reworded.
Where it actually is, in 2026
Early. It launched in 2026 and there are no customer testimonials on this site because there are not yet customers to quote — inventing them is the one thing that would make everything else here worth less. What can be checked is the machinery: the crawler holds tens of thousands of live roles read directly from employer career pages across sixteen applicant tracking systems, and the numbers behind that are on the sources page with the date they were measured.
Markets are the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Coverage is deepest where employers publish on systems that can be read directly.
Your data
CVs, applications and coach conversations are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon in the United States (AWS us-east-1) under standard contractual clauses. That is a third-country transfer and it is disclosed as one rather than described vaguely. You can export everything or delete the account outright from inside the app, and deletion is immediate. Details: privacy, subprocessors, security.
