REFUNDS & CANCELLATION

Cancel any time. Straight rules.

Below are the rules for the free plan, cancellation, and refunds — including your statutory rights in each region we serve.

DRAFT — LEGAL REVIEW PENDING
Substantive template — not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer. Every placeholder in [[BRACKETS]] below must be filled with real information before ads run.

1. Free plan

The free plan does not expire and does not require a card. Matches, fit and winnability stay free. Paid artifacts (CV, letter, prep, coach) are optional — we do not auto-charge.

2. Cancelling a paid plan

You can cancel any time from inside the app. Once you cancel:

  • Access continues until the end of the current paid period.
  • No further charges are made.
  • Data is retained until you delete it or your account.

As a rule we do not issue partial-period refunds after a successful renewal, unless required by law or by the specific statutory rights described below.

3. EU/UK 14-day statutory withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a right of withdrawal within 14 days of concluding the contract, per the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and, in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Digital-content carve-out: where you have explicitly consented to immediate performance of the service before the 14-day period expires and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal for the portion already performed (Art. 16(m) CRD), the right of withdrawal is extinguished for the delivered portion. We show and log this consent at checkout.

To exercise the right within the 14-day period (and outside the carve-out), email contact@jobdownup.app from the address on your account and we will refund the amount charged using the same payment method, within 14 days of receiving your request.

4. Australia (Australian Consumer Law)

Our service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a refund or replacement for a major failure and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For minor failures we will fix the issue in a reasonable time; if we cannot, you are entitled to a refund.

5. New Zealand (Consumer Guarantees Act 1993)

The Consumer Guarantees Act rights apply to your purchase of the service. Where the service fails a statutory guarantee we will remedy the failure or, where the failure is substantial, refund.

6. United States

US customers are billed via our payment processor. Refunds for duplicate charges or clear billing errors are provided on request. Where required by state law, additional rights apply.

7. Add-on purchases

There is no hunt-pack add-on. The only paid purchase is a Monthly or 90-Day Search subscription.

8. How to request a refund

  1. Email contact@jobdownup.app from the address on your account.
  2. Include the invoice number or the last four digits of the card used.
  3. State the reason briefly — for statutory rights we will not require detail beyond identifying the transaction.

We aim to respond within 2 working days.
